Traffic Splash September 13, 2008
Posted by The Secret Surfer in : Reviews , add a commentSince the arrival of Paul Kinder at Traffic-Splash back in December of 2006, This once mediocre advertising resource has risen to become one of, if not THE top performing exchange online today. Consistently ranked in the top 5 by several traffic exchange reports, including Traffic hoopla and Jon Olson’s Hit Exchange News, Traffic-Splash and it’s happy splashing dolphin have become synonymous with fast flowing, quality web traffic.
Let’s take a look at what has makes this gem of a site so effective.
Now delivering over 100 hits per url, per day, TS is giving it’s members the exposure they need get their pages converting. When you consider that as a pro member, you can earn 100 credits in mere minutes. of surfing, you begin to see the power of “Splashing with the dolphins”. With 100 or more people surfing at any given time of day, and thousands surfing every week, it’s no wonder so many are getting positive results from Traffic-Splash.
What about bonuses? How about guaranteed bonuses every 15 pages while surfing. Every 15 pages you surf, you’ll be presented with the bonus page. Click the button, and you win credits, or splash points. You never lose.
Believe it or not, there’s even more free advertising to be earned here. On the left sidebar in the members area, you’ll find a button labeled “surf rewards”. Click that, and you’ll be presented with a listing of the rewards offered for surfing 30, 100, 250, 500 or 750 pages per day. Surf 30? get entered into a drawing to win 100 credits. 3 winners drawn daily. surf 100-500 pages and win your choice of free banners or text links.
Of course you will find all the standard features you’ve come to expect from a traffic exchange as well. You can convert credits into banners or text links, and there is a rather large downline builder just waiting for you to add your affiliate links. The inclusion of a hits connect approved, customizable rotator is a feature several exchanges offer, but the one at TS is superb. You can add your own text, as well as your photo. So you get personal branding, the ability to promote multiple pages using only 1 url, and the opportunity to build your traffic-splash downline all with one url.
Customer support? The team at TS is ready to help 24 hours a day. My support tickets are usually answered in a matter of minutes which is rare in this industry. Friendly and helpful, Mark W, Paul C, and Jackie O have really raised the bar for Customer service in the traffic exchange community.
Y’know, I could probably go on raving about ts for a few more pages, I didn’t even mention the free downloads, but I think I’ve said enough. Let’s break it down to a final rating.
Based on the number of useful features, the bonus credits that actually get used, and the number of active members, and factoring in my own consistently good results as a Traffic Splash member…
Final Rating: 9 (out of possible 10)

Web Biz Solutions
Posted by The Secret Surfer in : Reviews , add a commentThe team at Web Biz Solutions seem to have approached the business of website traffic with all the best intentions. Plugging away since 2002, this exchange has a plethora of advertising options, and a variety of ways to earn advertising credits.
Where WBS most notably falls short is in the design department. The site does not have a uniform look throughout it’s pages, and while clicking through links you’ll find yourself wondering if you’re still within the same site. A site with the vast number of features and options that web biz solutions has can be confusing enough to the average user, and the poor design here only adds to the frustration.
If you can get past the muddled layout, WBS actually has some really interesting features, and never feels like a carbon copy of it’s competition. With four different surfing options, including surf n chat and 2 variations of their craps game, where the luck of the dice determine how many credits you earn, and of course the standard surfbar format.
Advertising is not limited to the surfbar, as you may secure ad spots in the WBS marquee which displays throughout the site. There are several other ad spots for sale as well throught the website.
At the end of the day though, it all comes down to the traffic. The traffic delivery at Web Biz Solutions is sub par to say the least, and I have to guess that the design is at least partially at fault. If this program was more user friendly, and had a more professional presentation, I have no doubt it would be a contender. As it stands, I have a hard time recommending this service to anyone who takes their business seriously.

Surf 4 The Earth
Posted by The Secret Surfer in : Reviews , add a commentThe exchange that makes a difference, Surf4The earth is a rare find. An advertising resource that also raises funds for various charites. If nothing else you have to applaud the owners for their attempt to make a difference in a very “Me first” world.
On the inside, Surf4the earth is impressive. The management has obviously put some serious effort into providing a solid advertising venue. There are a wealth of promotional tools including personalized splash pages and exchange specific targeted ads as well.
No time to surf? You’ll be amazed at the prices for ad packages at surf4the earth. Some of the industries lowest, and be sure to check out their “Traffic Express” ad co-op for some extra hands-free exposure in other traffic exchanges as well.
Currently, Surf4TheEarth has yet to receive the recognition it deserves, and as an unfortunate side effect, the traffic delivery is not what it could be. I do have a feeling this site will only improve as time goes on thanks to the active management and some great benefits for the members here. It’s just going to take some time for the word to spread.

I Love Hits September 12, 2008
Posted by The Secret Surfer in : Reviews , add a commentHow do you describe a Traffic Exchange with well over 95,000 members, that’s been online since 2001, and is owned and operated by THE traffic exchange guy, Jon Olson? I can do it in one word. Results. Always Jon’s top priority, positive results are the biggest reason I love hits has remained an industry leader for all these years. The fact that an exchange this large still consistently brings in hundreds of new users per week speaks volumes about it’s owners advertising skills.
As a member of I love hits, not only do you get fast moving, quality traffic, but you get access to the I Love hits Tutorials archive. This is one of the first places I send folks who e-mail me about their poor results with traffic exchange advertising. Outspoken and rarely wrong, you’ll be hard pressed to find a more knowledgeable expert Than Jon Olson when it comes to advertising in TEs.
I Love Hits has experienced some extensive upgrades this year, first with the ILH Profile pages which brought the exchange into the realm of web 2.0 with some really snazzy social networking tools. And soon followed by it’s participation in the one of a kind Super Surf cross promotion, giving members a chance to earn an incresed surf ratio by super surfing the 5 included exchanges.
In short, I love hits is one of the most consistently reliable traffic providers you’ll ever hope to find. With 7 years under his championship belt, Jon Olson and I Love Hits are a sure thing.

Traffic Dodgems
Posted by The Secret Surfer in : Reviews , add a commentTraffic Dodgems is another unique hit exchange from ace programmer Steve Ayling. Running on a heavily modified version of the LJ Script, Dodgems is by far one of the more entertaining exchanges on the net.
Earning hits to your sites here is similar to the system at Traffic at the Races, Steve’s other click exchange. Rather than earning a certain amount of hits per click, surfers are awarded credits based on the outcome of a game. The game loads every 15 pages and features “dodgem cars” or Bumper cars to folks in the USA. The game runs automatically, and depending on which car yours runs into first, you win a corresponding amount of credits.
This method can make surfing quite addictive, as you’ll most certainly want to surf in increments of 15 pages at a time. Every time you win big, you’ll have a tough time not sticking around for one more round.
Surfing at Traffic Dodgems is a great experience in so many ways. The light hearted happy tune that goes with the game, the famous “Ole, Ole, Ole, Ole” song on the verification page, and the overall clean surfing environment make clicking away here a real treat. But for some reason unknown to me, this gem of a program has yet to catch on.
Traffic flow here is, well, not what you’d expect from an exchange that appears to be so special on the surface. Maybe this site is too unique if there is such a thing. Whatever the case, Dodgems has quite the road to travel before it can hope to compete with the industries best.

TrafficEra September 11, 2008
Posted by The Secret Surfer in : Reviews , add a commentDespite the fact that this exchange only just opened it’s doors this year, Traffic Era has grown to become one of the most active manual exchanges on the net.
Team surfing is a huge part of the activity here. If you’re in a good team of power surfers, the potential for big time credits prizes is outstanding. However the competitive nature of the teams at Traffic Era is without equal. The quest for clocks keeps some of these teams surfing well into the wee hours of the night. While this is great for traffic flow, what does this do to the quality of traffic here?
Well for one, the eyes of the average team surfer rarely stray from the surfbar. The nature of the team surfing at Traffic Era is basically a race to collect a target number of “clocks” which appear periodically in the surfbar. First team to reach the goal, gets the biggest number of bonus credits, and some of these jackpots are downright monstrous.
What all of this boils down to, is that team surfers at Traffic Era, are extremely hesitant to look, or more importantly act on, the ads they stumble across while surfing. In Their race for the jackpot, seconds count, and unless your ad copy is absolutely astounding, more often then not, your ad will be ignored.
So yes, Traffic Era has a sizable active membership, and many will rave about the results they are getting there. Rest assured, these folks have spent some serious time working on their ads, specifically for use at Traffic Era. Do the same, and Traffic Era may become a huge asset for your business. Just don’t expect ads that convert well elsewhere to get the same results here.

Carnival Clicks
Posted by The Secret Surfer in : Reviews , add a commentCarnival Clicks is the #2 exchange from William Brant. While I’m an avid supporter of William’s Max Traffic Pro, Carnival Clicks leaves me scratching my head.
Now for starters, I should point out that the flow of traffic at CC is quite good. Never had a problem with my credits backing up here, usually had them delivered faster than I could assign them really. However, I get the feeling there’s a handful of power surfers hanging out in here, and an even stronger feeling that no one is paying attention to my ads.
Now of course, this is just my own experience, and every ad campaign is different. You may track your ads here and get considerably better results. Maybe surfer’s here just don’t like the look of my necktie? Hmmm… I’ll get back to you on that one.
My stats aside, There are some features at Carnival Clicks that I really like, for example the banner and text exchange. Place a piece of code on your website, and earn banner or text credits for each member ad displayed on your site. A great form of viral advertising and it means exposure outside of the TE itself as well. That’s something I always love to see.
So sure, there is some potential here, and I honestly couldn’t tell you why my results here have been so poor. Unfortunately, those poor results have led me to a low mark for Carnival Clicks.

FastEasyTraffic September 10, 2008
Posted by The Secret Surfer in : Reviews , add a commentCombine expert programmer Tim Rash with the marketing phenomenon that is Paul Kinder and what do you get? Fast Easy Traffic. The name says it all and appears to be the foundation of anything these two are involved in.
Surfing here at FET is not only fast and easy, but actually a bit more entertaining than your average exchange. Memorable, and often hilarious quotes load in the surf bar mixed with the occasional news item and pearls of wisdom. The surfing is clean, the credits plentiful and… did I mention fast and easy?
Fast Easy Traffic has a ton of popular features in place including surf and chat, a first page auction where members can bid their credits for the coveted daily start page, and the ability to transfer credits between members.
FET fits easily into what I consider the “best of the best” category of hit exchanges. Already delivering traffic on par with exchanges 2 to 3 times it’s size, Fast Easy Traffic is a gem and not to be overlooked.

eTrafficFreedom
Posted by The Secret Surfer in : Reviews , add a commentETrafficFreedom is a fully featured traffic exchanged running on the ever popular LJ script. There may be many sites offering the same features, but owner John Marks must be doing something right as the traffic delivery here has nearly doubled over the course of this summer.
Promoting ETF is made especially easy as the promotion tools here are plentiful. Aside from a wealth of splash pages and banners, Mr. Marks provides members with html ads, forum signature ads, and pre written emails. Members can earn up to 30% commissions on referrals upgrades and purchases, as well as a percentage of referrals credits earned from surfing. Members also have the option to mail their referrals once every 10 days.
Those who prefer to buy credits will be pleased with E Traffic Freedom’s very reasonably priced ad packages. The hits come in nice and steady ensuring some great daily exposure for your biz.
If E Traffic Freedom continues to grow as it has this summer, it may become one of the premier exchanges to promote your business. I’ll definitely be back for an updated review later on this year.

Link Crews
Posted by The Secret Surfer in : Reviews , add a commentLink Crews runs on a unique, custom script and appears to combine some of the best features of traffic-swarm and logiscape sites like TS25 into a powerful advertising medium.
As a free member, the goal here appears to reach the #1 Crew. While surfing, you work your way up from the bottom, advancing to the next crew by viewing a certain number of sites. Making it into the higher crews, gets you an increased surf ratio. This program uses a “tokens” system rather than credits, but essentially you start out with a 4:1 ratio and as a free member you can work your way up to a 1:1.
The surfbar is quite unique, combining Traffic Swarm’s classified ads approach with a more standard surfbar. You begin with a small thin surfbar which gives plenty of space for member ads. Once the timer has expired, the surfbar extends to about the average size you’d see elsewhere, and you are asked to choose one of 3 sites to view next.
Credits are assigned in the form of campaigns, very much like you’d see at the logiscape exchanges. You have a considerable amount of control here as you can not only set your total visitors and max daily visitors, but you can also set the campaign to start on a specific date and time.
Link crews management has done a fine job of delivering traffic consistently thus far, and it looks like everything is in place to keep the hits coming in down the road. At nearly 23,000 members, this site is just coming into it’s own.
